This won’t be long… I’m getting over being sick.
But anyway,

Honestly, if I was 10 months older and could’ve vote I would’ve voted for McCain. However, I’m not disappointed with Obama being elected. I think he would’ve been a better President in the future after he gained more years of experience, but I am really excited that finally an African American has become President. It’s ridiculous it hasn’t happened yet…
Obama does need to be careful though, he has a lot of promises to fulfil so I wish him the best of luck.
I think that’s it, really.

I finally got Bogus to Bubbly by Scott Westerfeld. I, Julie-wa am in the dedication… everyone who posted in Scott Westerfeld’s three Bogus To Bubbly posts had the book dedicated to them I believe. I think the only comment I made on those three posts was the following (but I have commentated on his blog several other times):

396 Julie-wa on 19 Mar 2008 at 6:31 am

compilations of all the advanced technologies in Tally’s world… and the new ones in extras…

the eyescreen, which is cool major… and the ping thing… the flash tattoos, all those things… hoverboards.

&kudos on writing an amazing “trilogy.”

So my comment was probably not unique to most other comments that were asking for explanations of hoverboards and other technology of Tally Youngblood’s world, but it was enough that the brilliant Scott Westerfeld would include me in his dedication and that is very icy!

In other news, the elections are just around the corner and you can expect a post when we know the next President… although according to most media the President seems to be already decided —> the one who rides a donkey. I’m not sure how I feel about that… hmm. I’ll expand on my political convictions later.

And then a couple surverys:

10 things you want to say to 10 different people:

1. You’re my hero, though you may not know, and away you go. I miss you and more, much more.

2. Goodness I miss you like mad! You’re amazing and… like mad cool. Like the adjective cool is thrown around for many things, but you are genuinely cool and a stellar friend.

3. (Kay, so a lot of these are going to be I love/miss yous…) I love and miss you and your family. You helped me through stuff, thank you so much. If I ever have a daughter, she’ll be named after you.

4. You’re so far away it’s insane! Miss you oodles... DDR! &pixie sticks!!!

5. You’re one of my craziest (in a good way) and most lovable friends. I love &miss you!!!!!

6. You’re finally happy, I’m so glad. You deserve that. I love and miss you!

7. Thanks for RENT and for inspiring me and for being there for me. I love and miss you!

8. Well, you throw amazing parties! And you’re a loyal, amazing friend. Love and miss you.

9. You are soooo sweet! I love and miss you so much!!! “The samples won’t delay but the cables…” (now your turn).

10. I want to meet you in RL. Maybe one day we’ll both finish one of our books, get them published and we’ll tour the country together, or the world… And you’re quite an amazing person who has inspired me in several ways.

9 things about yourself:

1. Jesus Christ saved my soul.

2. I LOVE reading. Books are my homeboys, especially Peter and Wendy by J. M. Barrie, the Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld, and Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit.

3. I create worlds and string words, a.k.a. I’m a writer.

4. I love singing and I can fairly well, but just not too well on stage… (stagefright).

5. Peter Pan<3

6. When I grow up I want to be a Jedi Knight, a Lost boy, a mermaid, an Auror, or an author.

7. I’m a vegetarian (one year now) and something of a tree-hugger.

8. I fly.

9. I’m not too sporty, but I enjoy rock climbing, archery, fencing, horseback-riding, ice skating, hiking, and swimming (any water but mostly the ocean).

8 ways to win your heart:

1. (Kay, umm not sure how well I’ll do at explaining this, but I’ll try). First off, you’re saved by Jesus Christ.

2. You’re trustworthy, and you trust me.

3. You’re loyal.

4. You’re brave, courageous.

5. You respect me.

6. You better not sparkle… j/king. Be strong (not necessarily physically) and independent.

7. You try to be understanding and put yourself in others shoes.

8. You’re secure in who you are… confident – sure, a little cocky but not vain.

7 things that cross your mind a lot:

1. Him.

2. My stories.

3. The Call by Regina Spektor (a song).

4. “…Freedom has a way of destroying things.” – Tally Youngblood.

5. The many people I miss quite terribly.

6. Sarah’s party which is Saturday that I can’t wait for… but the PSATs are before that… ugh.

7. My cat Kelsey-Caitlyn, who is in PA while I’m in NY… V_V

6 things you wish you never ever did:

1. Hmm, lemme think.

2. Ate meat…

3. Got that brush stuck in my hair (my mother had to cut it out).

4. I think I accidentally killed a ladybug a few days ago. V_V

5. Umm…

6. I can’t think of anything else atm.

5 things you want right now:

1. Sleep.

2. My cat Kelsey-Caitlyn.

3. Freedom, real freedom… wild, icy freedom.

4. A new good book.

5. Inspiration.

4 People you love:

1. Christi ma soeur.

2. Jeremy mon frère.

3. Josh mon frère.

4. Him.

3 smileys that describe your life:

1. ^_^

2. >.<

3. o_0

2 things you want before you die:

1. Him.

2. To change the world for the better.

1 confession:

1. I’n a hearbeat I would go Special.

#1 Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
#2 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling
#3 Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
#4 Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
#5 Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports by James Patterson
#6 City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
#7 The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray
#8 Extras by Scott Westerfeld
#9 Before I Die by Jenny Downham
#10 Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson

Well, I’m disappointed that a Twilight book beat out Harry Potter. I can’t stand Twilight and if you can, feel free to debate about it with me ^_^ Mostly, it’s because of Bella, the queen of Mary Sues, but then there are many more reasons which I’ve love to discuss. Not that I have anything against the author, just her Twilight saga…

I adore the Harry Potter series and am terribly sad it is over. The seventh was easily my favourite and while I believe it should have received first place, second is respectable. I could go on for hours honestly, about the series, but I’ll save that for it’s own blog post. Spolier! —> Harry Potter Death Song by my two amazing friends Carleena and Corie

Then Extras made number eight! The Uglies trilogy is icy to the max. I’ve never been more wrapped into books, or characters (Tally Youngblood). Extras was not as icy, but definitely bubbly and worthy of number eight if not higher. Kudos to Scott Westerfeld, a brilliant author.

Speaking of Scott Westerfeld: he pointed out in his blog “a three-legged, crab-walking microbot developed in South Korea.” Ever heard of nanotechnology? Well this is more like millitechnology, so not quite small enough yet, but tres intriguing. What’s crazy about this tiny bot is that it’s polymer powered by rat’s heart. Check out Scott Westerfeld’s blog to see this tiny bot in action. Then check out the rest of the blog and meet the brilliant author of the Uglies trilogy and many more great books.

That’s about it for today. Julie-wa out.

Oh&and:

Listening to: The Call – Regina Spektor (in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, a film based on the amazing book Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia part of an amazing seven books The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis).

Currently reading: rereading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, reading (or trying to >.<) Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice (I like it, but I’m not getting far too fast… and typically I read books straight through or practically straight through, I dunno, it’s just… hmm, maybe there’s a film?).
